Ingredients
- 1 cup short grain white rice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 cups milk
- 1 cup cream
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make milchreis (rice pudding)

Step 1In a large saucepan, combine the rice, sugar and salt. Stir in the milk and cream; add vanilla.

Step 2Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Watch carefully so as not to scorch or boil over. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, or until soft and the milk/cream becomes thick. Stir often.

Step 3Serve warm with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over top, or fruit.
