great great great grandma's rice pudding
My Great Grandma Charlotte Kennedy's recipe, given to her daughter Mabel Kennedy Sullivan, and given to me Colleen Sullivan Sowa. Originally this was baked in a wood stove, it has been adapted to gas and electric stoves over the years. I love the measurement of "the size of an egg" for the butter! This very old recipe is also very good! Baked puddings were how most puddings were done years ago, and they ate it as a meal, side dish and for dessert...

Ingredients
- 3 cups rice
- 3 quarts milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- - butter the size of an egg
- OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup raisins
- - extra sugar or cinnamon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla or almond extract
How To Make great great great grandma's rice pudding

Step 1Put all ingredients into a large baking pan. Stir all together. Bake in medium oven (350 degrees) for about an hour. Until rice is done and it is creamy.

Step 2*** You can add cinnamon, raisins,and vanilla if you like. *** Serve warm with some butter on it if you like.
