Ingredients
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 2 or 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- 1 cup chopped dates (pitted)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
How To Make date pudding

Step 1Combine first 3 ingredients. Make a syrup and boil 3 minutes. Pour into lightly floured 9x13 inch pan.

Step 2Combine remaining ingredients to make dough.

Step 3Drop dough into the hot syrup by spoonsful.

Step 4Bake in moderate oven (350) for 30 minutes.

Step 5Serve warm with whipped cream.
