This recipe is from Better Homes and Gardens cook book that I received as a wedding shower gift about 56 years ago. My family loves this and most of them would tell you they don't eat dates. The crust is crisp and the center is gooey--very good.

Ingredients
- 3 - beaten eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup sifted enriched flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped (not sugared) dates
- 1 cup walnut pieces
How To Make date pudding

Step 1Beat eggs and sugar until light. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg-sugar mixture. Stir in dates and nuts. Turn into greased 8x8x2-inch container and place container in a larger pan with hot water. Bake in moderate (350%) oven for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Serves six to eight.
