Ingredients

  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 5 to 6 cups peeled, cubed tart apples
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon orange peel
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or uncooked oats
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter

How To Make cranberry apple crisp

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl combine sugar, corn starch, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add apples, cranberries, corn syrup and orange peel; toss to mix well. Spoon into shallow 2-quart baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Topping: Combine nuts, brown sugar and flour. With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter until mixture resembles very coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over cranberry mixture.
  • Step 4
    Bake 50 mins. or until apples are tender and juices that bubble up in center are shiny and clear. Cool slightly; serve warm.
