Ingredients

1 1/4 lb
white bread, diced ( 1/2 " cubes )
1 c
raisins ( soaked )
1 c
large eggs
1 c
sugar
1 Tbsp
vanilla
2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp
salt
1 qt
2% low-fat milk

How to Make Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  • 1Butter a baking dish. Then soak the raisins.
  • 2Spread the bread evenly in the baking dish.
  • 3scatter the raisins on top of bread.
  • 4Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Then whisk in the milk
  • 5Pour the mixture over the bread and let stand for 30 minutes, periodically pressing the bread down with a spatula to help it absorb the liquid.
  • 6Preheat oven to 350'F.
  • 7Bake the pudding in a water bath until puffed and firm in the center, about 1 1/4 hours.
