Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb
    white bread, diced ( 1/2 " cubes )
  • 1 c
    raisins ( soaked )
  • 1 c
    large eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 qt
    2% low-fat milk

How to Make Bread Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Butter a baking dish. Then soak the raisins.
  2. Spread the bread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. scatter the raisins on top of bread.
  4. Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Then whisk in the milk
  5. Pour the mixture over the bread and let stand for 30 minutes, periodically pressing the bread down with a spatula to help it absorb the liquid.
  6. Preheat oven to 350'F.
  7. Bake the pudding in a water bath until puffed and firm in the center, about 1 1/4 hours.
