Ingredients For bread pudding

  • 1 1/4 lb
    white bread, diced ( 1/2 " cubes )
  • 1 c
    raisins ( soaked )
  • 1 c
    large eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 qt
    2% low-fat milk

How To Make bread pudding

  • 1
    Butter a baking dish. Then soak the raisins.
  • 2
    Spread the bread evenly in the baking dish.
  • 3
    scatter the raisins on top of bread.
  • 4
    Whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Then whisk in the milk
  • 5
    Pour the mixture over the bread and let stand for 30 minutes, periodically pressing the bread down with a spatula to help it absorb the liquid.

    Preheat oven to 350'F.
  • 7
    Bake the pudding in a water bath until puffed and firm in the center, about 1 1/4 hours.
