This is the perfect dessert for that Labor Day or July 4th picnic! It's also a great, light dessert anytime! This recipe also calls for a pre-made cake. cooking involved! :-)

A fresh and fruity dessert! This creamy trifle is light as a feather and tastes like a dream... a good dream. Great to serve for the Fourth of July or anytime you're in the mood for a festive and patriotic dessert. It can be thrown together in a snap and is made with all store-bought ingredients.

Ingredients For american angel food parfait

  • 1 pkg
    blueberries, save a few for top (6 oz)
  • 1 pkg
    raspberries (6 oz) or strawberries (16 oz), save a few for top
  • 1
    pre-made angel food cake
  • 1 pkg
    Cool Whip (8 - 16 oz container depending on how much Cool Whip you like)
  • 1
    clear glass container large enough to layer ingredients

How To Make american angel food parfait

  • Rinsing and drying the berries.
    Lightly rinse and pat dry the berries.
  • Angel food cake torn into bite-sized pieces.
    Tear the angel food cake into bite-sized chunks (no need to be even).
  • Angel food cake added to the trifle dish.
    Start with placing half of the cake chunks in bottom of container.
  • Berries added to the trifle dish.
    Sprinkle a layer of strawberries (or raspberries) and blueberries.
  • Cool Whip layered on top of the berries.
    Spread half of Cool Whip over berries.
  • American Angel Food Parfait ready to serve.
    Repeat steps 3-5. Decorate top with leftover berries. Serve :-)
