This comes from my maternal grandmother. I'm not sure why it is called Thursday's Sin... I think I was afraid to ask when I was little.

1/2 cbutter

2 ozunsweetened chocolate (squares)

2eggs

1 1/4 csugar

1/4 cmilk

1 tsppure vanilla extract

19 inch pastry shell, unbaked

whipped cream, optional
How To Make thursday's sin

1Combine the butter and chocolate in the top of a double boiler; bring the water to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook until the chocolate and butter melt, stirring occasionally. Set aside.

2Combine eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer for 3 to 4 minutes. Add the melted chocolate mixture, and beat well.

3Pour the chocolate mixture into the pastry shell. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 minutes or until set. Let cool completely. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
