Oh so easy and oh so deliciously wonderful. This pie is most requested for all occasions by family, friends and neighbors. There is something about its southern down-home goodness that appeals to almost everyone, even the kids.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 2 cups half n half
  • 1/2 cup margarine, cut in pieces
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • - nutmeg, for sprinkling
  • 1 - baked pie shell

How To Make sugar cream pie

  • Step 1
    Combine sugar and corn starch in a heavy sauce pan. Add milk to dry mixture and then add margarine (cut into chunks).
  • Step 2
    Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and starts to bubble. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Pour into baked pie crust and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve chilled. Makes one 9" pie.
