southern coconut pie

In the south we are known for many things. Peanuts, pecans, and ham are just a few. Coconut pie is one, too. Here is a favorite that is sure to please. This recipe can be doubled to make 2 pies which is what I do at Easter.

Ingredients
- - 1/2 cup milk
- - 1 1/4 cups coconut
- - 1/4 cup butter
- - 1 cup granulated sugar
- - 3 eggs
- - 1 teaspoon vanilla
- - 9-inch unbaked pie shell
How To Make southern coconut pie

Step 1Pour milk over coconut and set aside while creaming butter and sugar together. Add eggs to creamed mixture and beat well. Add milk, coconut and vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell.

Step 2Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until pie is golden brown and firm.
