Recipe given to me by Aunt Ida. This was one of my Father's favorite pies and one of mine also.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp
flour
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
cloves
1/2 c
sugar
1 c
milk
1/2 c
raisins
1 c
sour cream
3
egg yolks (set whites aside)
the egg whites may be used for merangue or save for a different recipe

How to Make Sour Cream Raisin Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 11 pie crust prepared and baked 8" ro 9"
  • 2Mix dry ingredients, flour, cinnamon, cloves and sugar.
    Add to it the milk, and sour cream. Mix well.
    Add raisins. heat but do not boil.
    Add a small amount of the heated mix to the mixed egg yolks.
  • 3Add egg mix back into the hot mixture and cook until thickened. Be careful you don't scorch it.

    When thickened enough pour into the baked crust, cool.
  • 4You can put a merangue on it before it cools or whip cream after it is cool. Either would be good.
