sour cream raisin pie

Recipe given to me by Aunt Ida. This was one of my Father's favorite pies and one of mine also.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 - egg yolks (set whites aside)
  • - the egg whites may be used for merangue or save for a different recipe

How To Make sour cream raisin pie

  • Step 1
    1 pie crust prepared and baked 8" ro 9"
  • Step 2
    Mix dry ingredients, flour, cinnamon, cloves and sugar. Add to it the milk, and sour cream. Mix well. Add raisins. heat but do not boil. Add a small amount of the heated mix to the mixed egg yolks.
  • Step 3
    Add egg mix back into the hot mixture and cook until thickened. Be careful you don't scorch it. When thickened enough pour into the baked crust, cool.
  • Step 4
    You can put a merangue on it before it cools or whip cream after it is cool. Either would be good.
