This pie was a favorite when I ran the restaurant made a lot of pies, five a day every day.

Ingredients

  • 1 - baked pie crust
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch (heaping)
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 1 cup sour cream, fat-free

How To Make sour cream raisin pie my way

  • Step 1
    put 2 cups raisins in sauce pan cover with 2 cups water boil about 5 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Drain but save the water.
  • Step 3
    In another sauce pan mix together the next 6 ingredients, add the water and the milk together to make 3 cups, mix with a whisk.
  • Step 4
    Cook on stove top whisking continuously until thickened,remove from heat add 1tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla, whisk together
  • Step 5
    cover with film and let cool. when cool add sour cream stirring well, pour into pie shell (I usually top this pie with whip topping, but you can use meringue.
