I found this recipe in an old cookbook from around 1950 and modified it a bit. When I make it again, I will cut back on the sugar. I found it to be too sweet. Prep time does not include making pie crust.

prep time 30 Min
cook time 55 Min
method Bake
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 - unbaked pie crust in an 8 or 9" pan
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 - eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup raisens, plumped and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

How To Make sour cream raisen pie (circa 1950)

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 2
Mix together sour cream, sugar and well beaten eggs.
  • Step 3
Add raisens and spices and beat together.
  • Step 4
Pour into prepared unbaked pie crust and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 30-40 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool before serving.
