When ever I bring this dish to parties or a get together I'm always asked for the recipe. It's fantastic! I suggest making this for the spring because that's when rhubarb is in season.

Ingredients

  • - first layer
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • - second layer
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 21/2 cups cut rhubarb
  • 3 - egg yolks
  • - third layer
  • 3 - egg whites
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

How To Make rhubarb torte

  • Step 1
    First layer; Combine ingredients and press in 8 by 10 inch pan.Bake at 325 degrades for 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Second layer; Cook until thick:pour over baked crust.
  • Step 3
    Third layer; Beat egg whites,sugar and cream of tartar.Spread on top of cooked rhubarb mixture.Brown in 325 degrades preheat oven for 15 minutes.
