Ever have extra apples on hand and wonder what to do with them? You're bored with apple pie, apple salad, etc. How about some apple fritters? A welcome change from the same ol', same ol'. Recipe: Paula Deen

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 - egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 3 - apples, peeled and sliced about 1/4 inch thick
  • - powdered sugar

How To Make really easy apple fritters

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon and sour cream. Mix well and add the flour.
  • Step 2
    Heat 2 Tbsp. oil in a large skillet to 375 degrees F. Dip the apples in batter and place in hot oil. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Turn and cook another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove fritters and drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm. Enjoy!

    NOTE: If you don't have self-rising flour on hand you can make your own: 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
