You have your eggs, bacon & sausage (& other veggies & cheese) all in one. Guys...try to think of it as an omelet in pie form or Omelet Pie! Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, fresh, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 ounces italian sausage, no casings, crumbled
  • 1 sheet - pillsbury refrigerated pie crust dough (pillsbury works great)
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 3 cups italian blend or cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 x large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream, cold
  • - salt & pepper, to taste
  • - garlic powder. to taste

How To Make manly quiche/omelet pie (real men "do" eat quiche)

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, add sausage & bacon, cook, until no longer pink; 5 – 8 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add butter, onions & mushrooms, season with salt, pepper & garlic powder; cook until onions are translucent; 10 minutes. Set aside & cool slightly, 10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Fit dough into 9" pie plate; flute edge.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle enough cheese in bottom of crust, about ½ - 1 C.
  • Step 6
    Beat eggs with cream, salt, pepper & garlic powder. Pour into crust; sprinkle with about ½ - 1 C cheese.
  • Step 7
    Bake 50 minutes or until set & golden. Immediately out of oven, sprinkle with remaining cheese. Let stand 20 minutes before serving.
