pretty pear gingerbread tart
This is called "pretty" for a reason. It's almost too pretty to eat. But I think we'll manage. It's quick to prepare but requires a long cooling time. It should be well worth it! Recipe & photo: bhg.com

How To Make pretty pear gingerbread tart
-
Step 1In a large mixing bowl beat shortening with an electric mixer on medium to high for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Beat until combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in molasses, egg, and vinegar. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour.
-
Step 2Press dough into a greased 12-inch pizza pan, building up edge slightly. Crimp edge as desired. Bake in a preheated 375-degree oven for about 12 minutes or until edge is lightly browned. Cool on a wire rack.
-
Step 3Stir cream cheese to soften. Spread cream cheese over crust. Carefully brush melted marmalade over cream cheese. Brush pear slices with lemon juice. Arrange pear slices in a decorative pattern on top of tart. Cover and chill for 1 to 4 hours.
