Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked, deep dish pie shell
  • 1/2 cup pinto beans, rinsed, drained, mashed
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons apple pie spice
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

How To Make pinto bean pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, mix thoroughly the mashed beans, melted butter, sugar, vanilla, molasses, eggs, and apple pie spice. Add the chopped pecans.
  • Step 3
    Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie shell that has been placed on a cookie sheet. Bake for 45 minutes or until the pie has set.
