Comfort foods, Yum! I love buttermilk pie. To me, it is one of the best 'comfort desserts' there could ever be. And who doesn't love peanut butter? I remember, as a child, sitting down with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon... all my problems disappeared. LOL. Today, I thought what if I could combine my 2 loves. So I came up with this... Peanut Butter Buttermilk Pie. I hope you all love it as much as I do. :-)

What could make buttermilk pie even tastier? Peanut butter! Oh my, we loved this addition to a classic pie. It has great peanut butter flavor but doesn't overpower the yummy buttermilk pie. This pie's smooth, creamy and we liked it best served cold. A very yummy dessert!

Ingredients

1/4 c
butter
1/2 c
peanut butter
1 1/4 c
sugar
3 Tbsp
all-purpose flour (rounded tablespoons)
1 pinch
salt
1 c
buttermilk
4 medium
eggs, beaten
1
unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie crust

How to Make Peanut Butter Buttermilk Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
  • 2Melt the butter and peanut butter together in the microwave. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  • 3In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt, and buttermilk. Add beaten eggs. Add the cooled peanut butter/butter mixture. Beat until smooth. Pour into the pie crust.
  • 4Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
  • 5Remove from oven and let cool.
