Comfort foods, Yum! I love buttermilk pie. To me, it is one of the best 'comfort desserts' there could ever be. And who doesn't love peanut butter? I remember, as a child, sitting down with a jar of peanut butter and a spoon... all my problems disappeared. LOL. Today, I thought what if I could combine my 2 loves. So I came up with this... Peanut Butter Buttermilk Pie. I hope you all love it as much as I do. :-)

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
What could make buttermilk pie even tastier? Peanut butter! Oh my, we loved this addition to a classic pie. It has great peanut butter flavor but doesn't overpower the yummy buttermilk pie. This pie's smooth, creamy and we liked it best served cold. A very yummy dessert!

Ingredients

1/4 c
butter
1/2 c
peanut butter
1 1/4 c
sugar
3 Tbsp
all-purpose flour (rounded tablespoons)
1 pinch
salt
1 c
buttermilk
4 medium
eggs, beaten
1
unbaked 9-inch deep dish pie crust

Step-By-Step

1Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
2Melt the butter and peanut butter together in the microwave. Let cool for 5 minutes.
3In a large bowl, combine sugar, flour, salt, and buttermilk. Add beaten eggs. Add the cooled peanut butter/butter mixture. Beat until smooth. Pour into the pie crust.
4Bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
5Remove from oven and let cool.
