I've been making this pie for a few years now. Don't remember where I got the original recipe, but after a little tweaking here & there, it's a good pie. We don't care for Meringue, so I never make it, but my friend Amy Jones does, so the pic with meringue is her pie using this recipe.

Ok, I finally remembered where I got the recipe from, lol. It is my Momma's, lol.

    egg yolks (reserve whites for meringue)

    9 in deep dish pie shell

How to Make Nana's Chocolate Pie


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake Pie Crust until golden brown.
  2. Mix cocoa, half and half, sugar, egg yolks, and Vanilla. Bring to a boil.
  3. Mix cornstarch with a little water and add to the boiling cocoa mixture. Cook until thickened. Por into pie shell.
    Beat egg whites and the 3 tablespoons sugar until a stiff peak forms. Place on top of pie & bake until lightly browned.
