my peanut butter hot fudge pie

This is NOT one of those "fuzz pies". This is a cooked pie filling that my friends love!

Ingredients

  • 1 - baked 9
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 - egg yolks, reserve whites for meringue
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter, creamy or crunchy
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • - hot fudge sundae sauce

How To Make my peanut butter hot fudge pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Completely coat the inside of the baked pie shell with the hot fudge sauce, set aside.
  • Step 3
    In a heavy saucepan, mix together the sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • Step 4
    In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks into the whole milk.
  • Step 5
    Thoroughly mix the milk mixture into the sugar mixture, and cook. Stir often to prevent scorching.
  • Step 6
    When mixture begins to bubble, reduce heat and continue to cook and stir for another 2 minutes.
  • Step 7
    Remove from heat.
  • Step 8
    Stir in the peanut butter and the vanilla.
  • Step 9
    Pour the cooked filling into the chocolate-fudge-topping-lined pie shell.
