This is a lower sugar version of a classic Apple Pie. It is best served either chilled or slightly warm so it won’t be runny. A scoop of Cinnamon Ice Cream makes the perfect a-la-mode.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp
butter, cold & cut in peices
1 Tbsp
cinnamon
2 Tbsp
all purpose flour
1/2 c
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
8 - 10
apples, peeled & sliced

refrigerated pie crusts

How to Make Lower Sugar Apple Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat the oven to 350°. Next prepare the pie plate by spraying with Bakers Pam, or grease & flour. Place the bottom pie crust in the plate and fit it well to the sides.
  • 2Peel, cut, & core the apples. In a large mixing bowl combine the apples, lemon juice, sugar, & cinnamon. Mix well to coat all apple slices.
  • 3Pour the apple mixture into the pie plate. Dot the filling with the butter pieces & place the top crust on the pie. Crimp the edges to seal well. Cut steam holes in the top crust.
  • 4Bake for 45 to 55 minutes until apples are soft and the crust is golden brown.
