Ingredients

  • 4 medium
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/3 stick
    butter
  • 1 1/4 c
    coconut
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • TOASTED COCONUT

  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • ·
    remainder of coconut from bag

How to Make Grandma's Coconut Custard Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix sugar and cornstarch together.
  2. Mix eggs into sugar mixture.
  3. Melt butter and mix with the remainder of the ingredients into the sugar and eggs.
  4. Pour into pie crusts. This makes two pies. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the middle is slightly jiggly.
  5. To toast the coconut melt butter into a skillet. Add the remainder of the coconut from the bag. Stir and watch it until it is toasted to your satisfaction.
