This derby pie is just as tasty without the bourbon added. I usually only add the spirits for grown up parties.

  • 1
    frozen pie crust
  • 1/2 c
    plain flour
  • 3/4 c
    light corn syrup
  • 1 c
  • 1/2 c
    coconut flakes
  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp
    almond extract
  • 3
    eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c
    pecans, chopped

How to Make Kentucky Derby Pie


  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup, flour, and eggs. Add nuts, coconut, bourbon, and extracts.
  2. Melt butter and add to mixture.
  3. Pour chocolate chips on the bottom of the pie shell.
  4. Pour mixture over chocolate chips. Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
