This is a crackly topped, creamy custard pie with spicy gingerbread flavors of molasses, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. If you like gingerbread, you will love this special treat. Try it warm with a dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • 1 - 9 inch unbaked pie shell
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup dark molasses
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • - whipped cream, sweetened

How To Make holiday gingerbread chess pie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter and cool slightly.
  • Step 3
    Beat eggs and sugar on medium speed until thick and pale. Add butter and the rest of ingredients until thoroughly combined.
