My grandma never used a recipe and she said ,just a pinch of this and that. She let me watch her make the pie and write it down as she cooked, I was 14 yrs old. She was famous all over the county here in the South for her pies. I used Granny Smith apples like she did, some people like to combine granny Smiths with Gaylas. This pie is the best. To save time and clean-up, I use Pilsberry pie crusts.
