baking cocoa
13 oz
evaporated milk
4 large
eggs, beaten
1/2 c
butter
1 tsp
vanilla
2 c
coconut, flaked
1 c
pecans, chopped

9-inch pie shells, unbaked

How to Make German Chocolate Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt the butter and set aside.
  • 2Combine the sugar and baking cocoa in a bowl.
  • 3Stir in the evaporated milk, eggs, melted butter and vanilla, blending well.
  • 4Stir in the coconut and pecans and turn into two unbaked pie shells.
  • 5Bake in a 350 degree F. oven for 40 minutes or until set around the edges.
  • 6Cool on racks.
  • 7Makes 2 pies of 6 servings each.
