This is a really good pie, especially when served still a little warm with vanilla ice cream. I don't remember where the recipe came from, I have had it for more that 45 years.

Ingredients

1
unbaked 9" pie shell
1 c
sugar
1/2 c
butter or margarine
2
egg yolks, reserve whites
2 oz
chocolate, unsweetened (2 squares, 1 oz each)
1/3 c
sifted flour
1 tsp
vanilla
2
egg whites
1/8 tsp
salt

How to Make Fudge Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2Melt chocolate in double boiler or microwave oven. Allow to cool.
  • 3Sift flour.
  • 4Cream butter until soft.
  • 5Blend sugar into the creamed butter.
  • 6Beat egg yolks, vanilla and melted, cooled chocolate into butter and sugar mixture.
  • 7Add sifted flour. Mix well.
  • 8Whip egg whites and salt until stiff. Fold into mixture.
  • 9Pour into unbaked 9" pie crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream.
