This "from scratch" easy pie is a delicious version of a Southern classic pie!

This is my mom's recipe, and growing up, it was one of my favorite!

  • 1 stick
  • 1 c
  • 2
    eggs, beaten slightly
  • 1/4 c
    cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c
    plain flour (if you use self-rising, consistency is more "brownie" like)
  • 1 tsp
  • 1
    unbaked pie shell

How to Make Fudge Pie


  1. Melt butter on stove top in heavy saucepan. Stir in sugar and eggs.
  2. Add flour and cocoa. Stir briskly until well mixed.
  3. Add vanilla, making sure it is blended throughout.
  4. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until well set.
  6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
