I'm no baker nor do I have a sweet tooth. I'm always looking for a quick and easy dessert for family and friends. This is a no brainer, easy and delicious. I hope that you will try this. It's a great finger food dessert idea for parties. Cooking With Passion, sw:)

  • 1 pkg
    refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1/2 c
    pineapple, chopped
  • 1/2 c
    pineapple cream cheese
  • 4 large
    basil, fresh & chopped
  • 1/3 c
  • 1/3 c
    chopped walnuts, divided

How to Make Fried Pineapple Basil Walnut Pies


  1. roll out pie crusts, cut into 3 inch rounds. this should make appromiately 18-20 pies
  2. combine pineapple, cream cheese, basil & half of the walnuts in a mixing bowl
  3. spoon about a teaspoon of mixture on pie crust round
  4. fold each round in half. add a little water around the corners. pinch and crinkle to seal
  5. deep fry each batch around 3 minutes or until golden brown. remove from oil and drain
  6. drizzle with honey and sprinkle remaining walnuts on top. ENJOY!!!
