Every time I make this pie people always ask for the recipe. This pie made with the Special Dark Cocoa gives it a full bodied deep chocolate taste. It can be made with regular cocoa for those who want more of a milk chocolate taste. You may top it with whipped cream, Cool Whip or meringue.

Ingredients

  • 3 - egg yolks, beaten
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup hershey's special dark cocoa
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

How To Make dark chocolate cream pie

  • Step 1
    Mix egg and sugar together in a heavy saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Add cornstarch, cocoa salt.
  • Step 3
    Add milk and cook over medium heat while stirring constantly until mixture boils.
  • Step 4
    Stir in butter and vanilla. Pour into a 9" pie shell that has been baked.
