I love custards. they are so light and flavorful. This recipe is for those watching their cholesterol and fat. This recipe is for individual servings, but think it could possibly be made into a pie, with you having to calculate in calories and etc. for the type crust you use.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups skim milk
  • 1 cup egg substitute
  • 1/3 cup sugar ( or splenda )
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon almond extract
  • - vegetable cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons roasted sliced almonds

How To Make creamy vanilla-almond custard

  • Step 1
    In large bowl mix first 5 ingredients until smooth
  • Step 2
    Pour into 6 individual ( 6 oz ) custard cups, that havebeen sprayed with cooking spray
  • Step 3
    Place cups in a baking pan, fill 1/2" with hot water
  • Step 4
    carefully place in preheated 300 degree oven
  • Step 5
    Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes, until knife inserted comes out clean
  • Step 6
    Cool, and sprinkle with almond slices. cover with plastic and refrigerate
