This is a great breakfast treat. Try it on cinnamon biscuits. If you have left over gravy pour it into a pre-baked pie shell or graham crust, top with sweetened whipped cream and you have dessert!

  • 1/3 c
    unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 pinch
  • 2 1/4 c
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    chocolate extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    fresh grated cinnamon (optional)

How to Make Chocolate Gravy/Pie


  1. In a medium sauce pan mix flour, sugar, cocoa, cinnamon (optional), and salt. Gradually add milk. Cook on medium heat stirring constantly with a whisk until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 minute until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat and add butter, chocolate extract, and vanilla . Stir until combined. Serve over biscuits, toast, pancakes, or waffles.
  3. Left over gravy can be poured into a pie crust of your choice and refrigerated 2-3 hours until set for pie. Serve with sweetened whipped cream
