Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 9-inch pie crust (I use refrigerated)

Step 1Combine the ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring well. Pour the mixture into the 9-inch pastry shell.

Step 2Bake at 225 degrees F for 2 1/2 hours. (This is not a typo.)

Step 3Increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and bake an additional 20 to 30 minutes or until set. Watch carefully in the last few minutes for the pie to set. Remove from oven.

Step 4Cool on a wire rack.
