I have had this recipe since 1980. I don't remember how i came across it. But my Husband loves it and my girls fix it for thier families.

Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 can cherries packed in its own juice
- 1/2 cup self rising flour
- 1/2 cup milk
How To Make cherry skillet cobbler

Step 1Prepare and cook in Seasoned Iron Skillet (Seasoned skillet has been burned off and will not rust) You can bake this in a rectangle baking dish too. In skillet melt butter; add 1/2 cup of sugar and cherries with juice. Cook until sugar has completely dissolved the mixture bubbles and has slightly thickened.

Step 2In 2 quart mixing bowl mix remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, with flour and milk; spread over cherry mixture in skillet or rectangular baking dish. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
