Wow, this holiday pecan pie has two additions we love - bourbon and chocolate. It's very rich and delicious. Sometimes pecan pie has a lot of "goo" in the center. If you prefer less goo, you'll like this pie. Bourbon adds a smoky flavor that complements the chocolate and chopped pecans. Adds a little zing to the sweet and rich pie.

Note: For appearance, we added additional pecans to the top of the pie before baking. They're not needed, but do add more crunch to the pecan pie. Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pkg
    refrigerated pie crust (15 oz)
  • 4 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    light corn syrup
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c
    firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    bourbon
  • 1 Tbsp
    all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 c
    semi-sweet chocolate morsels

How to Make Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Fit pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate according to package directions. Fold edges under and crimp.
  2. Whisk together eggs, light corn syrup, and next 6 ingredients in a large bowl until mixture is smooth; stir in chopped pecans and morsels.
  3. Pour into the pie crust.
  4. Bake on the lowest oven rack at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until set. Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
