Wow, this holiday pecan pie has two additions we love - bourbon and chocolate. It's very rich and delicious. Sometimes pecan pie has a lot of "goo" in the center. If you prefer less goo, you'll like this pie. Bourbon adds a smoky flavor that complements the chocolate and chopped pecans. Adds a little zing to the sweet and rich pie.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 package refrigerated pie crust (15 oz)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

For appearance, we added additional pecans to the top of the pie before baking. They're not needed, but do add more crunch to the pecan pie.
  • Crust crimped and in a pie plate.
    Step 1
    Fit pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate according to package directions. Fold edges under and crimp.
  • Pie ingredients combined in a bowl.
    Step 2
    Whisk together eggs, light corn syrup, and next 6 ingredients in a large bowl until mixture is smooth; stir in chopped pecans and morsels.
  • Filling poured into the pie crust.
    Step 3
    Pour into the pie crust.
  • Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie baking in the oven.
    Step 4
    Bake on the lowest oven rack at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until set. Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
