I made a fresh batch of my apple butter today and thought I would give this a try. This is excellent, it is close to the texture of pumpkin pie sets up nice and cuts wonderful, Will be a great addition to Thanksgiving dinner especially for those who don't like Pumpkin. You can use store bought apple butter and add spices of your choice

  • 1 - unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup applebutter
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 2 cups evaporated milk ( one 12 oz can)
  • - cinnamon

How To Make apple butter pie

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl combine
  • Step 2
apple butter, egg, sugar, flour and milk.
  • Step 3
whisk until well blended. Pour into unbaked pie shell, sprinkle the cinnamon over the top
  • Step 4
Bake in a preheated oven at 450 degrees, for 10 minutes Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 35-45 more minutes or until a knife in the center comes out clean. I always use a pie edge cover after the first 10 minutes so the edge of the crust wont get to dark. You can add a teaspoon or two of vanilla and a 1/2 teaspoon or to taste, of nutmeg if you like
