Ingredients

  • 1
    9-inch unbaked pie crust
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk
  • 1/2 c
    molasses
  • 1 large
    egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    plus 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How to Make Amish Union Pie

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.
  2. In a bowl ,combine sour cream, buttermilk, molasses and egg.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  4. Pour the flour mixture into the sour cream mixture and combine thoroughly.
  5. Pour mixture into unbaked pie crust. Bake for 10 minutes and the reduce oven to 350F and continue baking for 20-25 minutes, until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and serve.
