A family "staple" at every gathering. My mother's famous (or infamous?) marshmallow peanut butter squares. None of us ever knew the true recipe name, hence the generic "pink slice". Forty-five years of family get-togethers and still going strong!

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1/2 c
butter or margarine
1 pkg
butterscotch chips
1 c
finely grated coconut
1 c
peanut butter
1 pkg
multi-colored marshmallows
2 c
powdered sugar
1 tsp
butter or margarine
3
red food coloring drops
milk, enough to make good consistency of icing

How to Make The Pink Slice

Step-by-Step

  • 1Melt and cool the 1/2 cup of butter and package of butterscotch chips.
  • 2Add coconut, peanut butter and marshmallows. Mix well.
  • 3Press into greased 9x9 pan.
  • 4Mix powdered sugar and remaining butter. Add milk by teaspoons until desired consistency. Add red coloring to make a nice shade of pink. Spread over squares and chill. Freezes well.
