we have banana trees in our yard, so i make this bread pretty often.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    mashed (very ripe) bananas
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    chopped walnuts or pecans

How to Make sour cream banana bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Butter loaf pan, set aside. Cream butter and sugar with mixer until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs to butter/sugar mixture and beat to mix well.
  3. In med bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt. Add to the butter mixture, and mix till just combined.
  4. Add bananas, sour cream and vanilla. Mix to combine. Stir in nuts. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pan.
  5. Bake about an hour and 10 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Let rest in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool.
