Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon rum or bourbon

How To Make new jersey salted caramel

  • Step 1
In a saucepan, place sugar. Heat at medium to high heat. When it starts to liquefy, whisk.
  • Step 2
    Continuously whisk until dark amber.
  • Step 3
Remove from heat, temporarily. Add butter. You may choose to dice butter first at your option. Whisk until blended.
  • Step 4
Add rum or bourbon and salt. Whisk. Whisk until salt no longer appears gradient. Place on stove at low heat.
  • Step 5
Add cream. Mix thoroughly. Whisk and allow to reduce on stove to desired thickness.
  • Step 6
Use or refrigerate. You may need to microwave before use. Or you can roll into balls and coat with nuts. But remember to save a portion to use in my recipe, https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/dessert/chocolate/salted-caramel-dark-chocolate-brownies.html https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/dessert/cake/white-chocolate-butterscotch-blondies-w-caramel.html https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/sauce-spread/other-sauce-spread/bananas-foster-salted-caramel-ice-cream-topping.html
