mom's walnut balls

My Mom made these every Christmas for her cookie trays. They make nice fill-ins for the tray and since they are powdered sugar coated the whites looks nice. Taste good also. Can be made ahead and frozen until ready to use.

Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine--melted---(not lite)
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 pinch baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup coarsley chopped walnuts
- 1 cup powdered sugar
How To Make mom's walnut balls

Step 1Mix 1st 3 ingredients. Stir in flour & walnuts. (if to soft to handle,chill several hours)

Step 2Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Roll heaping teaspoon of dough into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking sheets.Bake 50-60 minutes until lightly browned.

Step 3Cool on wire racks 30 minutes. GENTLY shake about 4 balls in a paper bag with Confectioners sugar. Cool about 30 minutes and repeat shaking process.

Step 4Store in an air tight container, in freezer until ready to use.
