Ingredients
- CRUST:
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup shortening, melted
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped
- CREAM CHEESE LAYER:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup cool whip
- 1 teaspoon imitation vanilla
- JELLO LAYER:
- 6 ounces lime jello
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups crushed pineapple with juice
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup cool whip
How To Make lime jello dessert

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray bottom of a 9 x 9" glass baking pan with cooking spray with flour. Mix butter, shortening, flour, sugar and nuts. Press mixture into baking dish. Bake 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely.

Step 2With electric mixer, beat cream cheese; gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth. Stir in Cool Whip and vanilla. Spread over cooled crust; spreading to edges of pan to prevent Jello mixture from seeping through and making crust soggy.

Step 3Dissolve jello in boiling water, stir in pineapple; set aside. Place bowl of jello mixture in a larger bowl containing ice cubes and cold water to slightly thicken jello. Spoon jello mixture over cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate until set.

Step 4Before serving, spread with Cool Whip. Store in refrigerator.
