Blend Crisco with sugar and eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to the mixture alternately with the milk. Blend thoroughly, add flavoring. Spread 1/4-inch thick in greasedd cookie sheet. Cover with coconut meringue.
Beat the one(reserved) egg white until soft peaks form. Beat in sugar and add vanilla and coconut. Spread on top of cookie mixture. Bake 30 minutes in 325^ oven. Cut into squares.
