crispy rice squares
I have made this recipe a few times using different rice cereals. This one is more like the traditional rice crispy squares but a healthier alternative. It sets up very fast in the fridge and isn't overly sweet.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown rice syrup
- 1/2 cup almond or other nut butter
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raisins or currants
- 3 cups rice crispy cereal
How To Make crispy rice squares

Step 1Place the rice syrup, nut butter, vanilla and raisins/currants in a small saucepan.

Step 2Heat for a few minutes, then stir thoroughly.

Step 3Pour the rice cereal in a big bowl and add the rice/nut/raisin syrup into the bowl. Mix all together very well.

Step 4Press into a 9" square pan and allow to cool in the fridge. Cut into bars.

Step 5You can also add an ounce of melted vegan chocolate to the nut butter for a different flavour.
