    egg
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter,melted
  • 1 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    cranberries, fresh or frozen, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c
    oil
  • 1/2 c
    sugar, or powdered sugar

How to Make Cranberry Doughnuts

Step-by-Step

  1. In a bowl, beat egg; Add sugar and butter. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; and add to sugar mixture alternately with milk. Stir in cranberries. Heat oil in an electric skillet to 375 degrees. Drop by tablespoonsfuls of batter into oil. Fry doughnuts a few at a time, turning with a slotted spoon until golden, About 2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels; roll in sugar while warm.
