Ingredients

  • 2 c
    vegetable shortening
  • 2 lb
    powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 c
    icing base
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    meringue powder
  • 1/2 c
    water

How to Make Butter Cream Frosting

Step-by-Step

  1. Place all ingredients in a large bowl
  2. Beat with mixer on medium speed for 5 minutes
  3. Scrape sides of bowl after 3 minutes then continue mixing
  4. Separate and add food coloring to obtain desired colors
  5. May store in refrigerator for up to one week
