My mom made this every year at Christmas. It's one of the things that makes the holiday season special. It's so thick you should eat it with a spoon.

Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 quart milk
  • - vanilla to taste

How To Make boiled custard

  • Step 1
    Beat eggs well; add sugar with cornstarch. Stir in milk.
  • Step 2
    Cook in a double boiler, stirring constantly. Cook until the custard coats spoon.
  • Step 3
    Cool and add vanilla to taste. Keep refrigerated.
