7 layer jello

This recipe has been in my family for many years and is a favorite to bring to potlucks and parties. Don't wait too long to add the next layer, or they don't stick together. Feel free to use different flavors or switch it up however you like.

Ingredients

  • 2 boxes black cherry jello (3.9 oz)
  • 2 boxes strawberry jello
  • 2 boxes orange jello
  • 1 box lime jello
  • 1 can evaporated milk (14 oz), chilled
  • 7 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups cold water

How To Make 7 layer jello

  • Step 1
    Boil 1 cup of water in a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup. Add lime jello mix. Stir until dissolved.
  • Step 2
    Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir. Pour into a 13x9 glass baking dish. Place dish in the refrigerator (make sure it is flat) for 30-45 minutes or until set.
  • Step 3
    Boil 1 cup of water in a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup. Add one box of orange jello. Stir until dissolved.
  • Step 4
    Add 1/2 cup evaporated milk and stir. Gently pour on top of the lime jello layer. Chill for 30-45 minutes or until set.
  • Step 5
    Repeat with orange jello and water, strawberry and milk, strawberry and water, black cherry and milk, and finish with black cherry and water.
  • Step 6
    Cut into squares after last layer is completely set and serve.
