Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2/3 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 large watermelon

How To Make watermelon sorbet

  • Step 1
    In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water and corn syrup.
  • Step 2
    Stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Step 3
    Without stirring, simmer over low heat 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Stir in lemon juice; cool to room temperature.
  • Step 5
    Cut melon from rind, reserving only red fruit.
  • Step 6
    Remove and discard seeds.
  • Step 7
    Cut fruit into 1-inch cubes, making about 8 cups.
  • Step 8
    Puree melon cubes about 2 cups at a time in blender or food processor fitted with metal blade.
  • Step 9
    Stir into cooled syrup.
  • Step 10
    Pour into ice cream canister.
  • Step 11
    Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer\'s directions.
